Does your child ever wonder what 'types' of characters work best in different story writing tasks?  This 18-page e-guide will help! Many of my students have explained that one hurdle they face is knowing what sorts of characters suit what style of writing task. Focusing on the horror genre - more themed guides are on the way -  this guide covers 8 core character types, from male and female to monstrous and supernatural. I designed each illustration myself. Why?  From teaching experience, I know that thinking of the right character details is difficult for many students. Last but not least, every image is accompanied by a sample 2-paragraph story section that presents the character type in detail without just listing all their key features in one go. Using 'show not tell' and introducing one character trait at a time creates a more realistic story.  There's a lot to inspire, reassure and encourage young writers here.Each image can be used to practise both story writing and descriptive tasks.
